Charley graduated from Mountview with a Distinction on the MA Performance Course in 2020. She was previously a full time student at Redroofs Theatre School. Charley most recently has just finished choreographing for Beauty and The Beast. 

She has worked for many years teaching students from the age of 3 to 18, at part time and full time performing arts schools. She prepares students for festivals, musical theatre and acting exams alongside 1-1 preparation for professional auditions. She has worked with student on foundation and B-TEC courses, preparing them for college and university auditions, through running various masterclasses- from dance audition material l, monologue and acting through classes. This was hugely successful with students gaining places at highly renowned colleges. 

 

Most recently she has started to transition into the creative side of the industry as a choreographer, with the opportunity to work closely with many well-established companies and professionals. Charley works for a children’s agency where she is a talent scout and workshop leader. 

 

Theatrical credits include u/s Princess Jasmine in Aladdin. (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford), Ensemble in Santa Claus- The Musical, Cathy Cratchit in Scrooge, July in Annie (UK Tour), Jasmine in Aladdin (Leeds and Bridlington Spa), Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, Alice in Dick Whittington. Female lead in T’was The Night Before Christmas. 


Choreography credits include Dick Whittington, Ali Baba, A Little Light Fantastic, All4One, Atta Girls, Flora and the Red Menace and Tom Foolery. 

TV credits include Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, Midsummer Murders.

Charley is very excited to be starting her journey of teaching at ScalesAndTales.

Jess Mason Dance Teacher & Choreographer

Jess Mason has just finished her foundation course at Trinity Laban in Musical Theatre. She has started her third year of her four year degree course at The Brighton Academy.

 

Jess has  helped  run workshops for various youth theatre groups over the past four years and has gained a distinction in her ATCL qualification. She attended Stagecoach for 11 years and Guildford Theatre School for 6 years. 

 

She has appeared in professional productions at Richmond Theatre, Glive, The Rose Theatre, Leatherhead Theatre and the Capitol Horsham Theatre. She thoroughly enjoys teaching dance choreography to children and has boundless amounts of enthusiasm and energy. She is DBS checked and has her own chaperone licence.

Tim Graham Drum & Piano Teacher

Tim Graham is a young and talented musician with a wide experience of both performing and teaching. Since graduating from London School of Theology with a 1st BA Honors Degree in Theology, Music and Worship, Tim has played professionally with a number of bands as well as solo artists ,covering a wide range of styles from pop, rock, jazz, blues and gospel. 

 

Over the last two years Tim has built a good reputation as a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, both with individuals and in group settings. In his teaching Tim patiently helps his students to develop their skills, techniques, self-worth and confidence!"  He has also been a music teacher for Rocksteady in and around London. 

 

Tim is available for drum and piano lessons in the local area and London. He is happy to teach at pupils houses and currently provides drum and piano lessons at Long Ditton St Marys School.

Dennis Elvie - Piano, Clarinet and Violin Teacher

Dennis began learning music when in primary school and started, by receiving violin tuition. After winning a scholarship at the age of 12, he attended Trinity College of Music, London on Saturdays, where he was also fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to learn the piano and general musicianship under the direction of Ken Paige.

 

After 6 years at Trinity, Dennis became a full time student at the same establishment and attained an LTCL on the violin, an LTCL on the piano (under the direction of Simon Young) and a First Class Hons. GTCL qualification. Following this, he studied at the University of London, Institute of Education where he attained an MTC teaching qualification and several years later, a PDME.

Dennis then became a classroom music teacher and soon afterwards, a Head of Music and a Head of Performing Arts. During this period, he continued to teach the piano, violin, clarinet and general musicianship and established a Saturday Music School, as well as performing himself, throughout London and the South East.

 

He has since taught the piano, violin and clarinet in several schools and privately and performed thousands of gigs as a soloist, in bands and in duos, at a wide variety of venues in the UK and abroad, including at a Prince Charles Garden Party, on a plane, on ships and several times on BBC radio, BBC TV and Sky TV.

Jonny Bower Guitar and Rock School Teacher 

Jonathan has been playing music in a wide variety of settings from the age of 7 years old. After taking his first job as an orchestra pit musician at the age of 16 years, he has gone on to play with various professional bands, and been called upon to complete studio session work in a wide variety of musical styles.

 

Since graduating from London School of Theology with BA Honours degree in Theology, Music, and Worship, Jonathan has been teaching guitar privately, as part of a teaching organisation, and at university level, ranging from complete beginner standard to beyond grade 8. Jonathan has a passion for teaching, and is especially interested that students develop their fullest understanding of music, giving them the skills they need to achieve their desired goal, whether recreation, the pursuit of a career, or anything in between.

Felix Essex Guitar Teacher and Rock band Teacher

Felix began playing guitar at the age of 9 and worked his way to grade 8 on the Trinity and ABRSM classical exam boards during his time in education. Since then he has gone on to study music technology and composition at the University of the West of England (BSc Creative Music Technology) and has recently graduated with a first. 

 

Felix has played both guitar and bass for various bands from the age of 14 and is actively performing across the country with the artist Oscar Lang on the label Dirty Hit. He is also proud to be working as a guitar teacher and has a passion for providing children a chance to find a creative outlet in music.
